What we do & how we do it

Every person, organization and situation is different, so each ritual offering will be developed specific to the needs and intentions of each individual client. Together, we will identify your clear and conscious intentions and put them into action through simple and sustainable ritual activities. Whether you are an individual, part of a family or couple, or a leader in an organization, Taproot will work with you to create a process that meets your needs. Skip ahead to the process, or read on for a sampling of services offered.

CEREMONIES TO CELEBRATE TURNING POINTS

Simple, meaningful ceremonies can mark, honor and launch important transitions. If you are moving to a new place, starting a new job or project, or entering (or exiting) an important relationship, changing your name, or creating a blended family a ceremony might be for you.

At work, these important turning points could include a welcoming ceremony for new hires, an honorable closure event to honor a retirement, or other changes to corporate structure, identity and culture.

RETREATS

Personal and group retreats are ideal for re-centering, healing and creative inspiration. Activities might involve writing, art making or spending time in nature. Corporate or group retreats support transitions in leadership, identity, group structure and special projects. Retreat ritual can also help in building resonance, cohesion and agility within your team.

RITES OF PASSAGE

These important life events mark major shifts in which ritual can provide clarity, resilience and self-assurance. Examples of rites of passage are pregnancy, birthing, coming of age, coming out, health journey, or an end of life journey. We can also help with processing grief and loss, and support you in crafting funerals and celebrations of life for loved ones.

DEVELOPING CONNECTIVITY

Whether you need to deepen your connection with yourself or others, there are wonderful ways to accomplish that through ritual. Examples include feasts and intentional meals, mindful listening for processing conflict and building relationships, and simple purification rites for release and renewal.

Clearing and dedication of land, home or work spaces can also enrich your connection to your environment.

EXPLORATORY RITUALS

Are you ready to dig a little deeper? Exploratory rituals can deepen your understanding and love of self, and your relationship to your environment. These can include development of personal mythology, dream incubation and lucid dreaming to cultivate creativity and insight, and personal or group pilgrimages for visioning, insight and development.

The process

how we’ll work together to meet your needs

Five steps to a meaningful, customized and effective process

1. Connection/Initial Meeting

The first step is an introduction, usually by phone or email, to discuss potential areas for work. We will explore your goals and expectations, and I’ll answer any questions you may have regarding general practice, scope of work, and general fees. This first meeting is free.
If you’re ready, you can send me a message now >>

2.  On site meeting at home/workplace of the client or neutral location

Once we’ve agreed to move forward, you will complete a written questionnaire to deepen my understanding of your unique situation. Then, we will meet in person to begin creating your personalized plan. Ideally, we will meet at your home, your workplace, or another location that is connected with you and your intention. This allows me to assess the environmental context and the systems operating within it, which deepens my understanding of your specific situation so that I can best serve you.

3.  Research, contemplation and development of creative strategy for ritual practice

I will work with you personally and interactively in an ongoing exploration of the history, memory, outside influences, precipitating events, and dynamics relevant to the purpose and transition for which the ritual is being developed. This will include conversations and email correspondence.

4. Implementing the ritual practice(s)

Now that we’ve created your very own ritual plan, this is where you really get to work. I will guide and support you through every step of your practice, helping you stay focused and get the most out of your ritual experience.

5.  Closure and grounding

This last step is crucial in our process. We will meet either by phone or in-person to reflect on the experience and articulate the ways in which you’ve grown and how you want to take that forward in your life. We can also identify further areas for practice or ongoing ritual work.
